Ongoing professional development is a priority. Each time I meet

with your child or my adult students, my goal is to provide top-

quality instruction.  I find fresh insights, skill, and inspiration by

taking classes on a yearly basis.

I grew up in Ohio, where my family attended the Youngstown

Symphony, the sublime Cleveland Orchestra, and the Pittsburgh

Symphony.  I began viola in middle school orchestra.  While

in high school I studied with Kay Slocum of the Youngstown

Symphony.  I played in my high school orchestra and the

Youngstown State University orchestra, and later in community

orchestras and chamber groups in upstate NY.   While at Cornell, I

studied viola with Darrell Barnes and Jenny Hanson of the Ithaca

College School of Music, then with Roberta Crawford and others.

I am a mom of four, three grown and one in high school.  Favorite

diversions are walking, reading, and playing in the violin section

of the Starlight Symphony in Wimberley.
